2024 Annual Norris Breakfast

The Annual Norris Breakfast, sponsored by The Norris Institute, will be held at the ArtBank McCook Building in downtown McCook, Nebraska, September 20th at 7:00 a.m.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Charlyne Berens of Lincoln. Dr. Berens retired in 2014 from the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications where she was associate dean and professor. During her years at the university, she taught courses in writing, reporting and editing as well as an honors seminar on the First Amendment.
She was the editor and co-publisher of the Seward County Independent from 1976 until 1990, when she joined UNL. She is the author of two books about the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature and two political biographies. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from UNL.
She is the volunteer co-chair of the Curriculum Committee for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNL and develops and facilitates multiple OLLI courses each year. She is also a former honorary board member of Nonpartisan Nebraska and serves on the advisory board of Civic Nebraska.
The cost of the breakfast is $10 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the McCook Nation Bank or at the door.
