Parks

Aquatic Park

McCook’s new aquatic park opened in July 2024, replacing an 80-year-old WPA project that had served the community for generations. The new pool features lap lanes, multiple slides and zero-depth entry. The outdoor facility also includes a lily-pad, water guns and a family slide.

But perhaps the busiest area of the pool is the lazy river, which is enjoyed by visitors of all ages floating around on tubes.

McCook Disc Golf

Haven’t played disc golf in Southwest Nebraska? Looking for a renowned course to hold a tournament?

McCook offers two fantastic disc golf courses — Barnett Disc Golf Course, designed by a disc golf world champion, and the highly regarded Kelley Park.

1: Barnett Disc Golf Course

Designed by world-renowned Professional Disc Golf World Champion and course designer, Eric McCabe. Known for his challenging and innovative courses, Barnett Park boasts 18 holes, caters to younger and beginning players, but still holds challenges for seasoned competitors.

This is the newest disc golf course in McCook and includes plenty of space for tournaments and group outings.

2: Kelley Park

The challenger course. Covering a sprawling six city blocks, Kelley Park is our largest park and home to the celebrated disc golf course once ranked second in the state of Nebraska.

A popular course for tournaments, Kelley Park Disc Golf offers 18 holes, well-manicured fairways, concrete tees, Mach V targets, large hills, multiple low-ceiling shots, and a variety of challenging and technical shots.

There’s a reason this course is so popular.
